Scope and Responsibilities
As a Regional Sales Manager, the candidate's goal is to identify, prospect, cultivate, and manage food and beverage manufacturing clients for the organization. He/she will define a strategic plan, identify targets, set goals, and create results not only by tapping into a strong industry network, but also by cold-calling and developing new leads. Working independently out of a home based office, the individual will prospect potential customers through research, phone outreach, and trade shows. Additionally, he/she will close new accounts and develop existing accounts with phone and in-person follow-up. The candidate will partner with the General Manager to ensure strategic plans are consistent with company goals and efforts are not duplicated.
Repeat business and long-term relationships will be a key goal for this successful, growth-oriented person. Position involves travel on an as needed basis, potentially up to 50%.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five years of food ingredient industry sales experience, with demonstrated success prospecting, fact-finding, presenting, and closing. The individual must have developed and implemented a strategic sales plan, gained new customers, and cultivated existing customers. Qualified candidates will come with a strong industry network and key contacts.
The successful candidate will be a dedicated self-starter with excellent communication, sales, and problem-solving skills. The ability to be resourceful, demonstrate strong business acumen and creative thinking skills is essential. This individual must be comfortable creating solutions and overcoming objections. He/ she must be able to effectively communicate the strategic advantages of our client and follow-through to ensure a positive and long-term relationship with customers. This person will be high energy and have a 'can-do' attitude. He/she has an entrepreneurial mind and exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work in an unstructured environment. As a key person for growth, candidate will bring strong customer relations skills, be results-oriented and self motivated. Additionally, the individual will have the ability to prioritize and maximize use of his/her time.
- Base salary $100k
- Bonus based on achieving sales and profit targets
